December 2021

Shining, shimmering, splendid are just the words to describe our latest premises

New year, new experience. Come January 2022, CP Residences will welcome guests to a spanking new complex – the latest addition to its portfolio of properties.

Called CP @ Mohamed Sultan Road, it will feature a café, grocery shop and the CP office and community space, while the residential space will comprise 13 apartments and three co-living units. With a wide array of bustling pubs and eateries at its doorstep and the Civic District, Central Business District and Orchard Road shopping belt just a short drive away, CP @ Mohamed Sultan Road boasts an unbeatable address.

Steeped in History

The area is rich in history too. Long before Mohamed Sultan Road found fame as a nightlife hotspot in the 1990s and early 2000s, it was once home to godowns and shophouses that stored or traded in goods offloaded from ships in Singapore Harbour. Many of the shophouses have since been gazetted for conservation.

Another structure of interest is the Hong San See temple at 31 Mohamed Sultan Road, which stands out for its traditional Southern Chinese temple architectural style – think courtyards, a beam-frame structural system and curved roof ridges and eaves. It was completed in 1913 after its previous site in Tras Street was acquired for road widening in 1907, and gazetted as a national monument in 1978.

Across the road, more history beckons at Fort Canning Park.

Take a walk through the Battlebox – the underground command centre where the British decided to surrender to the Japanese during World War II – or visit Keramat Iskandar Shah, a shrine dedicated to Singapore’s last king. You could also download BALIKSG, an augmented reality app that takes users on an interactive tour of the 18-hectare Fort Canning Park. Don’t miss the nine historical gardens within this hilltop attraction, such as Sang Nila Utama Garden, Raffles Garden and Farquhar Garden.

Fab Food Galore

When it comes to F&B options, you are spoilt for choice. Mohamed Sultan Road and the nearby Robertson Quay are dotted with laidback bars and popular restaurants, such as Bar Bar Black Sheep and The English House by British celebrity chef Marco Pierre White. The lively cluster offers something for every palate, from juicy, massive steaks at Bistecca Tuscan Steakhouse to the signature dried fish at Himonoya.

To end the day on a sweet note, treat yourself to some organic ice cream at gelatolabo, which offers refreshing combinations like lychee, raspberry & rose and peach & lemongrass flavours.
