Orchard Road dazzles with sparkling lightings

In Its First Christmas Village

The Christmas village is located outside Ngee Ann City and will be opening from Nov 25 to Christmas Day, from 11am to 10pm on Sundays to Thursday and 11am to 11pm on Fridays, Saturdays and during Christmas season.

With the initiative of the trial of Shibuya-style pedestrian scramble crossing, for the first time, Orchard Road unveiled a Christmas village showcasing all types of fairy lights, fireworks and festive fare. The Christmas village is located outside Ngee Ann City and will be opening from Nov 25 to Christmas Day, from 11am to 10pm on Sundays to Thursday and 11am to 11pm on Fridays, Saturdays and during Christmas season.
One of the best things about this is the free entrance!! The attraction was launched with a light show and firework lit up the night sky after the performance from local singer Alex Chia.

Christmas Village hosts many pop-up stores from 25 different brands, including Toast Box, Starbucks, … which allow shoppers to dine and enjoy the nightly live performance. Along with the shopping activities, there are also amusement rides, craft activities, do-it-yourself workshop, and a roaming balloon sculptor. You are also able to take photos with our Santa Claus.

The village is very well-decorated for shoppers’ best Christmas experience. On the top, there is a 20meters-long passage made of reflective fabric and fairy lights in front of Forum The Shopping Mall, and also a Christmas tree with 4.5 meters tall outside Ngee Ann City, getting ready for the Christmas season. This year, the Christmas tree lights will be turned on 3 hours earlier than previous year, which is at 3pm.

One interesting thing you need to put down on your note, that a Christmas countdown concert will be held here on Christmas Eve. Orchard Road Business Association chairman Mark Shaw said: “We are confident that these initiatives will make Orchard Road even more vibrant and offer new experiences to those who visit our precinct over the Christmas festivities.” This attraction is aiming at 3.64 million visitors coming to Singapore during this year festive period.

As Christmas is around the corner, not only Orchard Road is getting ready for it, but the whole of Singapore has also lighted up their streets, shopping malls, tourists attractions, etc. Ding dong ding dong!! It is the best time for you to come to Singapore and enjoys all those beautiful and fascinating lightings along the streets. The Lion City seems to be very well-prepared with its colourful outlook getting ready for one of the biggest and most exciting holidays of the year.
